MOUNT KISCO, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Ben Harvey of Mount Kisco, who nominated his wife Shari Harvey. An essential worker, she is a Speech Pathologist at the Veterans home at the V.A. in Montrose.

My wife has been on the front line since day one and has treated and cared for our veterans on a daily basis in a facility that lost more than 40 people in the early spring.
