Fox Lane High School student Charlotte Herber and Horace Greeley High School student Anubhav Guha are among several announced for this year's Intel Science Talent Search semifinalists, Intel announced.
There are 300 student semifinalists, according to Intel, a field that narrows to 40 finalists. The finalists will go to Washington, DC in March and compete for a $100,000 top award, according to Intel.

According to a booklet that is linked to Intel's website, the official name of Herber's work is "Evidence of Toll-Like Receptor Nine-Mediated Amelioration of Amyloid Pathology in a TgSwDI Mouse Model of Alzheimer’s Disease".
The name of Guha's work, according to the booklet, is called "Discovery of Rare Earth Oxide Nanoparticles as Agents for Prolonging Fluorescence Imaging in Biological and Other Systems: Fluorescence Studies from Single Molecules and Dispersions".
