Dementia Patient Calls 911 From Hospital: Kisco Blotter

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Here are some of the recent incidents to which Westchester County Police responded in Mount Kisco:
Friday, Oct. 11 – 8:28 a.m. – Westchester County Police observed an unattended backpack in Kirby Plaza and closed a portion of the area until the item could be assessed by Bomb Squad personnel. The backpack was found to be non-hazardous. Personal papers were found inside and officers were able to return it to a man in Bedford who had accidentally left it behind.
7:11 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Northern Westchester Hospital Center after receiving a 911 call from a patient there. Medical staff advised that the patient has dementia and officers determined there was no emergency.

Thursday, Oct. 10 – 6:24 p.m. – A resident of Rolling Ridge Court heard noises on the second floor of her home and feared there was an intruder. Westchester County Police responded, searched the home, and determined the premises were secure.
8:53 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to a home on Thorne Avenue after a man reported that the rubber seal from an earbud had come lose and was stuck deep in his son’s ear. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and transported the injured party to Northern Westchester Hospital Center. 12:11 a.m. – A resident came to the Westchester County Police precinct on Green Street to report that he had received several threatening texts from a blocked phone number. The texts included images of guns and rifles. An investigation is continuing.

Wednesday, Oct. 9 – 11:49 a.m. – A woman contacted Westchester County Police to report that her former boss was spreading rumors about her and it was making her upset. She was told it was not a police matter and was advised to contact the Human Resources Department at her former place of business.
Tuesday, Oct. 8 – 3:35 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Starbucks on South Moger Avenue on a report of a loud argument between two customers. The dispute occurred due to one of the customers having a telephone conversation with the speaker phone function on. Both parties left the store after an officer arrived.
Monday, Oct. 7 – 5:27 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to the parking area behind Village Hall on a report that a group of men were drinking alcohol in public. An officer located a man with an open can of beer and issued him a summons for violating the village’s open container law. The summons is returnable next month in Mount Kisco Justice Court.
3:13 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Grove Street on a report of a loud argument
between two men on the street. Officers sent the men their separate ways.
