Don't Miss: New Castle Celebrates Family Fun and Small Town Spirit April 9

Everyone gets a self-guided tour map and can meet fire, police, mail, town and school officials, as well as many participating merchants.

Downtown Chappaqua is the spot for the second annual It’s a Beautiful Day in Our Neighborhood event from 11am to 3pm Saturday.

This second annual community awareness/spirit event aims to create a springtime small-town utopia with balloons, fire trucks, kids activities, fun and friends.

The event aims for all residents to have an opportunity for face-to-face introductions and to learn the names of key town officials, first responders, shopkeepers and other neighbors.

The “It’s A Beautiful Day in Our Neighborhood” event was created and is being hosted/run by the Chappaqua-Millwood Chamber of Commerce. Nabby Day Camp is the event’s top sponsor, along with Breeze gift shop.

“Our intent is to convey a sense of community connectedness; that we are all interwoven and even stewards of our town," said Chamber Board member and event organizer Dawn Greenberg. "Chappaqua/New Castle has been a special place for over 100 years and we want to honor and build on that."

Everyone will be given a map to take a self-guided tour, which includes the opportunity to personally meet fire, police, mail, town and school officials, as well as many participating merchants. Senter Street (the street housing the New Castle Community Center and the Chappaqua Fire Station leading to Bell Middle School) will be closed off to traffic so that Nabby Day Camp can set up a special play area and petting zoo.
