Driver Hits Pregnant Pedestrian; Social Worker Is Suspicious

Here are some of the incidents to which Westchester County police responded last week.

Oct. 25: 1:13 a.m. — Westchester County Police responded to Grove Street on a report of a domestic dispute. A woman at the residence told police that her husband had been drinking and their dispute was verbal in nature only. The husband agreed to leave the residence and stay elsewhere for the night to defuse the situation.
Oct. 24: 4:45 p.m. — Westchester County Police responded to Kirby Plaza after a woman was struck by a car. Officers and EMS personnel aided a pregnant woman who was clipped by a vehicle as she was crossing the street and was knocked to the ground. She suffered minor injuries and was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital Center. The driver was issued a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
11:41 p.m. — Westchester County Police responded to Woodland Street on a report of a person who was acting irrationally at a residence. A woman reported that her son was intoxicated and possibly on drugs. The man was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital Center by the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
9:53 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Gregory Avenue on a report of a past domestic incident. A woman at the residence told officers that her husband had pushed her during an argument that had occurred about 1 a.m. and that she wanted a report to be prepared to document the incident.
Oct. 23 – 9:37 p.m. — Westchester County Police responded to a residence on West Main Street after a teen told family members had taken some pills. The youth was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.
9:16 p.m. — Westchester County Police responded to Brook Street on an activated fire alarm at a residence. It was determined that the alarm was triggered by a burning candle and there was no active fire.
Oct. 22: 1:20 p.m. — Westchester County Police responded to the 500 block of East Main Street on a complaint of an unsafe condition involving a lane closure. A private company doing work on the block had closed a lane for safety reasons but the single flagman was not effectively managing the flow of traffic. An officer assisted with traffic control until the work concluded a short time later. Workers were advised that an additional flagman would be needed if additional work was needed at the location.
Oct. 27: 6 p.m. — Westchester County Police responded to Kensington Way after a resident reported that a suspicious person was at her front door. Officers determined that the visitor was a social worker who was following up with the resident after a recent hospital stay.
