Flood Risk Overnight, Friday: Hudson Valley Forecast
Flood watches and hazardous weather outlooks have been issued by the National Weather Service up and down the Hudson Valley.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Excessive rainfall over the next 36 hours could lead to flooding, according to the Weather Prediction Center. The National Weather Service has issued hazardous weather outlooks for Putnam and Westchester counties for Thursday evening and Friday.
A HWO was issued as well as for Dutchess County:
A strong storm system may bring heavy rainfall and strong winds to the region later today into early Friday. The heavy rainfall, combined with wet antecedent conditions, could contribute to some minor flooding in urban and poor drainage areas.
In addition, strong southeast winds will be possible today and tonight. If the potential for wind gusts exceeding 45 mph increases, a wind Advisory would be issued. This potential for strong winds looks greatest across higher elevations of the southwest Adirondacks, and within the Hudson River Valley, and across the southern Green Mountains, Taconics, and Berkshires.
The NWS also expanded its flood watch for Orange and Rockland counties.

A strong frontal system will approach tonight with bands of heavy rain moving up from the south and southwest. There is the potential for the training of heavy rainfall bands over the watch area.
Flooding is possible along the faster responding small river and streams across the watch area. Urban and poor drainage flooding is possible as well.
Hudson Valley Weather, which yesterday forecast "buckets of rain," honed that forecast Thursday, saying that the region could get 1 to 3 inches of rain just between 7 p.m. and Friday morning.
Expect to hear thunder off and on as well. Here's a look at the next 48 hours.

"Things improve greatly on Saturday and Sunday, with temps surging into the upper 60s and low 70s! So we’ve got a nice reward for making it through this ugly 3 day stretch of weather," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.
