Gas Odor, Disorderly Conduct, Knife: Police Blotter Mount Kisco

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Here are some of the incidents to which the Westchester County Police responded in Mount Kisco last week.

Friday, July 19, 7:38 a.m. — Westchester County Police responded to Spring Street on a report of a car blocking a private driveway. A summons was issued and the vehicle was towed to re-open access to the driveway.

Thursday, July 18, 11:40 a.m. — Westchester County Police responded to New Castle Drive to assist a 67-year-old man who had fainted. He was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.

10:19 a.m. — Westchester County Police responded to a restaurant on Main Street on a report of a strong odor of gas. The Mount Kisco Fire Department also responded, made entry into the business and located a stove that had been left on. The fire department ventilated the building to dissipate the gas.

Wednesday, July 17, 11:11 p.m. — Westchester County Police responded to a business on Lexington Avenue on an activated burglar alarm. There was no sign of entry and the premises were found to be secure. The alarm company was advised that the system had apparently malfunctioned.

5:31 p.m. — An employee of a business on South Moger Avenue reported that a group of men was hanging out and blocking the store’s entrance. An officer spoke with the group and the men agreed to move to another location. While this conversation was under way, a man in a nearby parked van began screaming at the officers and cursing them repeatedly. When he would not calm down, he was advised he was under arrest for disorderly conduct. He refused to get out of the van and had to be forcibly removed to be taken into custody. Marteen Antwi, 19, of Bedford, was charged with resisting arrest and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, misdemeanors, and disorderly conduct, a violation.

Tuesday, July 16, 7:12 p.m. — A Spring Street resident reported that he and another motorist had exchanged words while driving in the neighborhood. The other driver then followed him and stopped outside the resident’s home when he turned into his driveway. When the resident approached the other vehicle, he observed the driver holding a knife in his lap. No threats were made or words exchanged but the resident felt menaced by the display of a knife and reported the incident to county police. Officers canvassed the neighborhood but could not locate the other person.

4:09 p.m. — A resident came to the Green Street precinct to report that a relative visiting from Italy had lost her passport. She requested a police report to document the incident in order to obtain a replacement passport.

2:10 p.m. — A village resident was arrested on a DWI charge after he fled from the scene of a car crash on Kisco Avenue. The incident began at 1:45 p.m. when a Toyota Scion traveling on Kisco Avenue struck a parked car and a lamppost before coming to rest against a tree near Hillside Avenue. Witnesses reported that the driver jumped out of the car and ran off.
