Geoffrey Brock: Longtime Mount Kisco Resident

Mr. Brock died Feb. 18.

Geoffrey E. Brock, a longtime resident of Mt. Kisco, died on February 19th at the age of 85. He was born and raised in Peasedown St. John, England.

He obtained a B.Sc. in Metallurgy from Cardiff University, S. Wales in 1950 then went to the U.S. on a Fulbright Scholarship. He received MS and PhD degrees in Metallurgy from the Pennsylvania State University in 1952 and 1954 respectively. After serving in the US army from 1954-1956 at Frankford Arsenal, he joined IBM. He retired from IBM in 1989 after holding several positions in the Components Division and World Trade Corporation.

Geoff was a hobbyist, reed organ restorer, harpsichord builder and general handyman. He was a longtime member and substitute organist at the Mt. Kisco United Methodist Church.

His wife Mary Ellen (Meg) Grube Brock predeceased him. He is survived by his three children; David and his wife Carole of Ambler, PA, Julia of Congers, NY and Andrew of Mt. Kisco, NY. He is also survived by his brother Ronald and sister Margaret, both of England, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bruce and Sylvia Wagner of Sea Cliff, NY as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are private at his request.
