Kisco 5K to Run through the Heart of the Village

The third annual promises to be even more fun than its predecessors.

There's still time to sign up for the third annual Kisco 5K and the Kids Mad Dash, coming up on Sept. 18.

The 3rd Annual Kisco 5k, presented by the Saw Mill Club, has quickly become a favorite event of the village, particularly as it falls on the same weekend as the Mount Kisco Sidewalk Sales Days.

There were more than 450 participants in last year’s 5k race and almost 100 participants in the Kids Mad Dash races. The 5k race and the Kids Mad Dash bring together neighbors, friends, community members and local businesses for a morning of running and fun for all ages.

This year’s 5k race has a new course running through the heart of Mount Kisco. The race will still be an out and back 5k course, starting and ending at the train station; but this year, runners will continue up Main Street, into and out of Leonard Park, and back down Main Street.

Presenting sponsor Saw Mill Club is giving each runner a Free 1 Day Guest Pass to the Saw Mill Club with race registration. Also, all registered runners are invited to a post race party at Exit 4.

Local Mount Kisco business P Morrissey Contracting was eager to be a major sponsor again of this race after seeing what a great community event last year’s race was, saying, “It was a real community affair.” Additionally, local businesses Wine Enthusiast and Bicycle World have generously donated items to be raffled off. Every registered runner over the age of 21 will be entered into the drawing for a Wine Enthusiast 166 bottle wine cellar, and registered runners over 18 will be entered into the drawing for a Bicycle World new 13” Trek 820 bike.

Prizes will again be awarded to the top 3 overall male and female finishers, as well as to the winner of each age group. Children aged 10 and under are encouraged to pre-register for this year’s Kids Mad Dash. These kids’ races will again be FREE to participate in, but with registration children will receive a medal and a special t-shirt and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

Registration for both races is now open through the race’s website. It looks to be another great race this year, with runners of all ages coming together to celebrate fitness, fun and community.
