Kristen Browde Wins Backing of North Salem Democratic Committee
Progressive Candidate Browde Looking to Win the 93rd Assembly District Seat

Chappaqua, NY – Kristen Browde who is running for the 93rd New York State Assembly District in Westchester County, has added to her impressive list of endorsements supporting her progressive agenda, this time from the distinguished North Salem Democratic Committee.
“We are endorsing Kristen because she has been an advocate for women and other marginalized groups and has progressive views on environmental issues and we feel strongly Kristen will fight for the many things we agree are important for the state,” said Emily Siegel, co-chair of the NSDC.
In just the past few weeks Sen. Alessandra Biaggi, County Legislature Majority Leader Catherine Parker, County Legislator Damon Maher, New Castle Town Board Member Jeremy Saland, New Castle Democratic Committee, and the Victory Fund have all announced their support for Kristen.

“I’m delighted that the North Salem Democratic Committee has endorsed me. We share a progressive agenda that we will fight for every day, as we work to keep New York State the best place to live and work in the country,” said Browde.
The NSDC is also supporting Kristen’s stand on environmental issues such as banning all fracking related activity, banning any new natural gas infrastructure in the State, stopping the flow of gas in the Algonquin Pipeline at Indian Point, pushing the Department of Environmental Conservation to strengthen its gas air emissions regulations and her progressive advocacy for women and other marginalized groups.

Browde, in addition to practicing as a lawyer, is the leader of two Bar Associations and has been a long-time union member and activist. She is a trustee of SAG-AFTRA’s $2.5 billion pension plan and a director of Equality NY. Both of those positions have led to her spending years working with the legislature and Governor to enact major legislation, including major amendments to New York State’s Human Rights and Criminal laws, as well as a ban on the use of non-compete clauses in employee contracts for broadcasters.
She is the lone woman in the primary race and possesses a unique skill set that will help her to hit the ground running in Albany. Before she began her law practice, Kristen was an Emmy-award winning television news reporter and anchor. As a reporter, she developed a keen sense of justice as well as the ability to communicate the heart of any subject to a wide and diverse audience.
New York State’s 93rd Assembly District includes the Westchester County communities of Bedford, Harrison, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, New Castle, North Castle, North Salem, Pound Ridge and White Plains. The Democratic Primary is Tuesday, June 23rd.
