Memorial Service for Lynn Wells Wildman

The retired Horace Greeley High School guidance counselor was 91.

From the Wildman family

Lynn Wells Wildman passed away peacefully on the morning of July 29th after a brief struggle with cancer. He was 91. Lynn is survived by his two sons, David and Peter, his daughters in law Karen and Kathy, and four grandchildren. His wife RoseMarie predeceased him two years ago. Lynn served as a guidance counselor at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua for more than 30 years. He continued his vocation as the coordinator for the volunteer tutoring program at the Bedford Correctional Facility for Women for 25 years.

Lynn’s Christian faith was very deep and had a profound impact on his words, relationships and actions throughout his 91 years. He consistently acted on his belief that “it is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.” Lynn would request that in lieu of flowers, any donations may be made to the Riverside Church for its Prison Ministry. We give thanks to God for the many candles Lynn lit in our lives and in the lives of all he touched.
