Mount Pleasant Man Accused Of Driving Wrong Way On TSP
One man was sent to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

NEW CASTLE, NY — A Mount Pleasant man was arrested in relation to a wrong-way crash on the Taconic State Parkway Tuesday. State police charged Andrew S. Elias, 30, of Mount Pleasant, with second-degree reckless endangerment and reckless driving, misdemeanors.
Police said troopers were sent to the area of Exit 8 on the Taconic around 11:33 a.m. in the Town of New Castle for a collision caused by a wrong-way driver.
An investigation found Elias was driving his 2007 Mercedes-Benz C230 north in the southbound lanes of the parkway.

He struck a southbound 2015 Honda CRV being driven by John J. Maxwell, 64, of Fishkill.
Maxwell was taken to Westchester Medical Center for minor injuries.

Elias was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of New Castle Court Feb. 22.
