Road Paving in New Castle
The town has tackled a long list of roads around Chappaqua and Millwood.
CHAPPAQUA, NY — The town of New Castle is engaged in summer/fall road paving.
The 2016 paving list: Allapartus, Spring Valley Road (1.2 miles), Harriman, Whippoorwill Lake Road, Whippoorwill Close, Overlook, Upland and Woodland.
Also, Con Ed has agreed to pay the town to resurface Oak Hill. And town crews are repaving part of the train commuter lot as part of a multi-year project.

"As people see us paving streets, we are hearing more and more calls for "what about my street?" said Town Supervisor Rob Greenstein. "Unfortunately, due to years of neglect, our failing roads - and we have many - are their top priority. For our part, we are making sure DPW has the budget to play catch up."
In his first budget, spending on road paving doubled to $800,000, he said. This year, the town will be spending almost $900,000.

That amount does not include the cost to resurface about one-third of the train station lots – which is estimated to cost between $175,000 to $200,000 – and that money will not come from the general operating budget but from the additional money raised from the sale of parking permits, he said.
Work crews began work Monday on the train station lot. It is a multi-year project for budgetary reasons.
