Snowstorm Could Clip The Hudson Valley Friday
It will also be unseasonably cold, and there's a familiar culprit at fault.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — While nothing will make up for the lack of snow, a storm coming from the Midwest on Friday will likely make for winter-like slippery and dreary conditions. Rain and snow are in the forecast.
It will also be unseasonably cold.
"Step out your door today, and you’ll feel a howling chill out of the northwest," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "Highs on Thursday will only reach into the mid 40s. Now, that might not sound too wintry… but how about when I tell you that the average high temperature on Friday is 62°. That’s the AVERAGE. That means that Thursday is roughly 20 degrees below average."

There's a familiar culprit at fault.
"A lobe of the polar vortex has set up shop near Hudson Bay, Canada, and will try to hold cold air in place in the Northeast as storms approach ... a pattern that was lacking for most of the winter," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok said.

The storm is forecast to get here Friday afternoon bringing snow and rain. While the lower valley is expected to get nothing but rain —with maybe some slush — after dark the region north of I-84 could get some wet snow.
"It should come as little surprise that the models are having a nightmarish time with this system in terms of rain vs. snow … because … it’s April 17th!!" Potter said.
