Westchester DAR Chapter Provides Valentine’s Day Cheer
Members of the Polly Cooper Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution support the military with care packages and cards

(Chappaqua, NY) Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR sent care packages and cards to bring heartfelt cheer to members of our country’s military on Valentine’s Day.
Twenty-two care packages were sent to men and women serving around the world. Chapter members donated snacks, coffee/tea, stationery, and personal care items, meeting outside at the Bedford Free Library to assemble and fill the care packages. The chapter has been holding virtual meetings since last March due to the COVID-19 pandemic and this event was a chance for everyone to safely participate together in the annual service project. One box filled with requested clothing was sent to The Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), the largest US military hospital outside the continental United States, and the nearest treatment center for wounded soldiers coming from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Members also participated in New York Congressman Sean Maloney’s Valentine’s for Veterans initiative as another way to give thanks and show appreciation for the sacrifices of our military.
