What to Do for Halloween 2018 In Freeport

Halloween is fast approaching. If you have been searching for ways to celebrate close to home, I’ve got a treat for you! Here’s a list of what’s happening near or in Freeport for Halloween this year:

From now until November 3rd (various times): Blood Manor Presents Crypts of the Coliseum - Nassau Coliseum located at 1255 Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale (approximate 12 minute drive*) has turned into a frightening haunted house composed of various themed rooms, corridors, and passageways. After getting scared by the Blood Manor characters, guests can hang out and see them again in the Blood Manor Fear Garden at the NYCB Live plaza. While there, people will be exposed to various food and drink options as well as entertainment. Ticket prices range from $30-50. Attendees must be at least 14 years old to enter. From now until November 4th (various times): Epic Escape Rooms - Four Halloween themed rooms ranked from not scary to moderately scary offer a thrilling and challenging experience. This activity requires people to work together to solve riddles in order to escape a room in 60 minutes or less. These escape rooms are appropriate for those 10 years of age or older. Prices start at $28 per person. October 19th, 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th, 28th 6:30-9:30pm: Spooky Fest - This festive activity is sponsored by The Center for Science Teaching and Learning (CSTL) at the Tanglewood Preserve in Rockville Center. There will be a couple of Halloween themed walks, arts and crafts for kids, a live animal exhibit, a zombie maze, and photo-op with monsters. For $10, one has access to all the non-scary attractions. A $15 ticket gives access to both non-scary and scary activities. Tickets are available for purchase at the event. The perfect way for families to celebrate Halloween.
Saturday, October 20th 11:45am-1pm: Halloween Parade - Free fun filled event taking place at the Bellmore Fire House on 230 Pettit Avenue in Bellmore. Attendees should dress in costume for the parade. There will be trick or treating at various local vendors. Those of all ages are welcome.

Saturday, October 27th 11am-4pm: Halloween Family Fun Fest - Outside of Madison Theater (1000 Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Center) will be a day of activities great for the whole family. There is something for everyone including mask making and bounce houses to an exotic petting zoo. There will be food trucks, games, live entertainment and more. Saturday, October 27th 7-10pm: Halloween Dinner Cruise Costume Party - Hop aboard the Not So Scary Sapphire Princess boat at 11 Richmond Street in Freeport for an evening with just the right amount of spooky. A $75 ticket to this late night tour of the South Shore Bay gives you access to a costume contest, Blackjack for Fun table, and contest for a free trip to Panama. Food and refreshments include a three hour open bar, coffee, tea, appetizers, a dinner buffet, and dessert. One must be 21 or older to attend, the average age of attendance is about 30 years old. Friday, October 31st 4-6pm: Halloween Costume Parade and Party - This free family friendly event is located at the Freeport Recreation Center on 130 East Merrick Road. There will be a Halloween themed bouncy house, a DJ, a magician, a clown, balloon animals, face painting, cotton candy, and goody bags. For children nine years old and younger.
