Sen. Brooks To Work Soup Kitchen Food Line In Freeport
The state senator is also expected to make sandwiches for those in need.
FREEPORT, NY — State Senator John Brooks is giving back to the community and those most in need.
Brooks is scheduled to work the food line at the Soup to Nuts Soup Kitchen Wednesday, his office said in a news release.
The soup kitchen has been serving a free, multi-course lunchtime meal weekdays for more than 30 years.

"I will be attending not just to highlight the important work these volunteers are doing for their community," Brooks said in a statement, "but to further understand and hopefully shed more light on the urgent need faced by so many of our neighbors."
He is expected to join volunteers in preparing and serving the meals. Brooks is also planning to make sandwiches during the three-hour event, the news release said.
