County Gets $5 Million for Milburn Creek Repairs
The grant will completely cover the cost of repairing flood protection, as well as repaving part of Merrick Road.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano announced that the county was awarded a $5 million grant through the BRIDGE NY Program for the rehabilitation of the Milburn Creek Culvert.
The Milburn Creek Culvert was significantly impacted by Superstorm Sandy. The rehabilitation of Milburn Creek Culvert will include the removal of debris from inside the structure, as well as repairs to the concrete, and the installation of a waterproofing membrane, which is required for the updated repairs.
Additionally, the project will include road surface repairs to the existing 4-lane travel lanes on Merrick Road. This grant will provide 100 percent reimbursement, up to $5 million.
