The Freeport Arrows Ice Hockey Raises Over $5000 To Help A Member With Cancer

The Freeport Arrows Ice Hockey raises over $5000 to help a member of the Arrows Family diagnosed with brain cancer.

Freeport's Arrows Ice Hockey Organization raised over $5000 last week to help raise money for a parent and former General Manager of one of their hockey teams. Funds were donated to NYPD Sgt. Chris Christodoulou to help him with his fight against cancer.

Sgt. Chris was diagnosed with stage 4 (metastatic) glioblastoma, a very aggressive type of brain cancer. The Arrows felt that raising funds immediately was the least they could do to show support to Sgt. Chris for his 4 years of dedicated service to the league.
Rob Albi, Director of the Arrows Organization, teamed up with Carol Ann Albi, Director of Arrows fundraising, and Melissa Cruz, Director of Merchandising, to launch the event at the Freeport Recreation Center. This event, held the weekend of September 16th, was not only worked by parent volunteers, but team players also donated their time helping at the tables selling custom shirts made for this event. The front of the shirts read "Blue Lives Matter", the back of the shirts reveal the arrows and the NYPD hockey team logos. Both NY Islanders and Rangers team memorabilia was auctioned off.

Kudos to the Arrows administration, parents and players for all of their hard work and dedication for this noble cause. Donations are still welcomed. To donate, please go to this online link www.gofundme.com/Sgtchris
