Students on the Freeport High School wrestling team were honored at the Nassau County Awards dinner at Crest Hollow Country Club for having achieved All-County distinction.
The honored students were senior Dashaun Thomas, juniors Frankie Paulino, Chad Elder and Ikce Quiles, and freshman Lee Mauras. In addition, Mauras placed first in the 2017 War at the Shore Folkstyle Nationals Tournament held at the Wildwoods Convention Center in Wildwood, New Jersey, which earned him a national title and All-American status in the 128-pound weight class.
