Freeport Wrestler Makes District History
Ikce Wicasa Quiles was the first in the district to ever place at the Eastern States tournament.
FREEPORT, NY - From Freeport Public Schools: Freeport High School senior Ikce-Wicasa Quiles became the first wrestler in the district’s history to place at the Eastern States wrestling tournament, one of the toughest wrestling competitions in the northeast United States.
Quiles, who currently wrestles in the 182-pound division, placed sixth in the tournament. Last year, he placed fourth in the county. He has been wrestling since he was in the seventh grade, and was named this year as All-County in wrestling, football and track.
The district extends its congratulations to Quiles and is proud of his commitment to athletic excellence.
