Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island

Big changes ahead in the Long Island forecast.

The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:

An arctic front will pass through the region late Thursday night bringing the coldest air of the season to the area Friday into Saturday. Record low temperatures are possible Friday night, with temperatures falling into the lower to mid 20s for the urban corridor and coast and teens across the interior. This will end what is left of the growing season.

Temperatures will be 15-20 degrees below normal and more typical of those seen in January, the NWS said.

The expected wind chill temperature (how cold it really feels) at 7 a.m. Friday: 11.
