Iconic, Decayed Long Island Art Deco Building Demolished
Plaza West, in Freeport, was an architectural beauty on the outside, but a decayed husk within. It will be replaced with a car dealership.

An iconic Freeport office building was demolished, clearing away a blighted building to make way for an auto dealership.
The Plaza West building, located on Sunrise Highway in Freeport, was an iconic structure in the village. The art deco building was likened to New York City's Flatiron building, even occupying a similar triangular plot of land.
While the exterior of the building was very nice, the inside was a decayed husk: filled with debris, broken pipes, cracked walls, flooded basements and more.
