Believe The Hype: Rep Wants Public Enemy Turnpike
A Nassau legislator is set to propose renaming a section of road after the famous Long Island-born rap group. What do you think of the idea?

The Long Island-born rap group Public Enemy may be coming to your town. Or even your block. If you live on a very specific stretch Babylon Turnpike, that is.
Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams is planning to put forward legislation that would rename a stretch of the road that runs between Freeport and Roosevelt "Public Enemy Turnpike," in honor of the incredibly influential group.
"Through their music and social commentary, Public Enemy awakened America’s consciousness and earned a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame," Abrahams said. "With their deep Roosevelt and Freeport roots and ongoing community activism, I feel renaming a portion of Babylon Turnpike would be a fitting tribute to their contributions.”
