Taylor Raynor Easily Wins 18th Assembly District Seat
BREAKING: See who won in the race between Democrat Taylor Raynor and Republican James Lamarre.
The results are in for the 18th Assembly District race, and Taylor Raynor handily defeated James Lamarre to secure Earlene Hooper's seat.
In unofficial results Tuesday night, Raynor, a Democrat, defeated Republican Lamarre 16,184 to 1,897, with 65 percent of precincts reporting in. She defeated longtime Democratic incumbent Hooper in a primary in a surprising upset.
The 18th Assembly District encompasses Hempstead, Lakeview, Uniondale and Roosevelt, as well as parts of Freeport and Garden City.
