Students Meet Successful Author, Freeport Native
Peter Legrangis, a Freeport native and alum, visited the students last week.

Freeport students from Leo F. Giblyn Elementary School, Archer Street Elementary School and Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School visited the Freeport Memorial Library on Nov. 15 to meet Peter Lerangis, an author of more than 170 books including nine New York Times’ bestsellers.
Lerangis is a former Freeport resident who attended Bayview Avenue School, Atkinson, J.W. Dodd Middle School and was Freeport High School Class of 1973 valedictorian. His popular young adult books include, “The Max Tilt" series, “The Seven Wonders” series,” “The 39 Clues" series” “The 39 Clues: Cahills vs. Vespers" series, “Drama Club" series and more.
Lerangis spoke to the students about his journey in becoming an author and provided insight on what the writing process is like for him. Students came to the library prepared with many questions about Lerangis’ life and his career.
