The Town of Hempstead board is getting prepared to vote on a contract for $80k tax dollars and will decide on 1) an accredited behaviorist or 2) one who seeks to "gain knowledge in animal behavior." Santino created an "interview committee" filled with 5-6 town officials who have no background whatsoever in animal sheltering or behavior.

A shelter supervisor has already collected $3,500.00 in donations and is now asking for $1,200.00 more. This is to send a dog to a Virginia facility that failed past state inspection. Collecting donations from people should not be allowed without town board members approval and all money should be put into an account and managed by the town comptroller not a supervisor.
