Cops: Car Strikes 69-Year-Old Pedestrian

A man was hospitalized with serious head trauma after he was struck by a car in Uniondale Friday morning, according to Nassau County Police.

At 11:10 a.m., the 19-year-old driver was turning right onto Jerusalem Avenue from Nostrand Avenue when he struck a 69-year-old man, cops said.

The victim, who had been crossing to the northern side of the street, suffered severe head trauma and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, cops said.

No criminality is suspected in the accident, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
