Coronavirus On LI: XSport Fitnesses Close, Nearly 200 Lose Jobs
The two locations are just some of the latest casualties of businesses as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

GARDEN CITY, NY — The coronavirus pandemic has been closing countless businesses across the state as people stay home. Some of the latest victims were the XSport Fitness locations in Massapequa and Garden City, which led to nearly 200 people losing their jobs.
The two XSports were located in malls in the area: one in Massapequa in the Westfield Sunrise Mall, and another in Garden City in the Roosevelt Field Mall. There were 109 people laid off at the Garden City location, and another 83 at the Massapequa location, for a total of 192.
CF Management-NY, LLC, the parent company that runs the two locations, cited "unforeseeable business circumstances prompted by COVID-19" as the reason for the layoffs.
