From Plaza Theatrical Productions: Grab your space suit and get ready for an adventure in outer space as Plaza Theatrical Productions presents Awesome Allie: First Kid Astronaut, a live musical theatre production (performed by adults) with audience participation, at Long Island’s Cradle of Aviation Dome Theatre in Garden City!

Production Background

“When the script and score of Awesome Allie were sent to me by Steve Spiegel, the president of Theatrical Rights Worldwide, I was taken with the story of a little girl with big dreams and a big imagination. After I read the script and listened to the music, I envisioned the show being presented in an air and space museum venue for both school groups and public performances,” shared producer/director, Kevin F. Harrington.

During a chance meeting with Dr. Tom Dolan (Retired Superintendent of the Great Neck Public Schools and interim president of Nassau Community College), who presently serves on the Board of Directors for the Cradle of Aviation Museum, Harrington shared his vision for the show, Awesome Allie. Impressed by what he heard, Dr. Dolan arranged a lunch meeting with the director of the museum, Andrew Parton and Plaza producer, Kevin Harrington ... and the rest, as they say, is history!

Rather than using traditional scenery for the show, Plaza Theatricals is working with Broadway Media Distribution of California in creating animated video projections. “We are taking full advantage of the giant screen dome theatre projectors,” mentioned Harrington, “to create an environment where, at times, audience members will feel that they are gently floating through space with the characters!”

After the production debuts at the Cradle of Aviation Museum, through a special arrangement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide, the Plaza Organization has been granted the exclusive rights to produce a national tour of Awesome Allie: First Kid Astronaut at Air and Space Museums across the United States.
