Crew 288 Teaming Up With Zombies

A Boy Scout Venturing Crew sponsored by Garden City Kiwanis is teaming up with an unlikely ally to raise funds to further promote its mission.

Members of Crew 288, a Boy Scout Venturing Crew sponsored by Garden City Kiwanis, is trying to raise money to further promote outdoor wilderness activities for girls and boys ages 13-20 and teach them the importance of emergency preparedness.

The youth group is teaming up with an unlikely ally - zombies - to raise the funds in order to continue its mission of developing educational programs that will "stimulate interest for high school students looking to study environmental
sciences and participate in high adventure activities."

Crew 288 is also hoping to use some of the proceeds from an August 2014 event with actors from "The Walking Dead," survival skill training and Zombie paintball with glow-in-the-dark paint.

Zombie Survival T-shirts are available for purchase here. At 200 shirts sold at $20, this fundraiser will raise $2,340 for the youth group. To date, 12 shirts have been sold. The goal is 200.
