Crews Prep for Doubleday Court Construction
Developers, the Engel Burman Group, were expected to break ground this week.

Construction of a three-story, 54-unit condominium complex known as "Doubleday Court" is underway in Garden City.
Construction fencing is in place along 301 Franklin Avenue as crews were expected to break ground this week.
A pre-construction meeting took place Dec. 5 between developers, the Engel Burman Group, and building department superintendent Mike Filippon to review, among other things, staging and truck traffic.
Resident concerns about truck traffic during construction prompted the village's Traffic Commission in May to approve the installation of "No Truck Traffic" signs on the east side of Cedar Place and Hamilton Place.
"They were told not to use any east-west cross streets whatsoever," Filippon said.
The Engel Burman Group describes the condominium complex as "metro-style NY living with a touch of the countryside manor ... the Upper East Side meets the charm of Garden City, with a host of exceptional amenities."
Two-bed/two-bath residences with private balconies will be offered, according to the group's website, as will amenities like a 24-hour concierge, private parking garage and welcoming lobby.
"They hope to be completed so they can have occupancy in 2015," Filippon said.
