Golden Goose Gala, LICM Birthday Bash This Week

E-Waste Collection Day: The village will hold an E-Waste Collection Day Tuesday, Nov. 19. Call the Village Yard directly (465-4031/4032) to schedule collection of all e-waste items including computers, televisions, DVD players and VCRs. The Municipal Service Yard is located at 2 Cherry Valley Avenue, Garden City. Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 9-11:45 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Village Board Meeting: The Garden City village board of trustees will meet Thursday, Nov. 21, at 8 p.m. in the village hall boardroom to discuss a full agenda. Residents are encouraged to attend.

Golden Goose Gala: Twigs of Winthrop-University Hospital's 39th Annual Golden Goose Gala will take place at the Garden City Casino Friday, Nov. 22, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Fine merchants offering merchandise great for holiday gifting. Raffle prizes of an Apple Gift Card, Lord & Taylor Gift Card, and more. LICM 20th Birthday Bash: The Long Island Children's Museum is celebrating its 20th birthday with a party Saturday, Nov. 23, and Sunday, Nov. 24, between 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. Kids can enjoy birthday activities from around the world, dancing demonstrations, puppet and music performances and a sweet treat.

Book Signing at Barnes Gallery: Garden City author illustrator John H.W. Rhein III will be signing copies of his book, Who Is Col.
