Garden City To Celebrate Arbor Day April 30
Commemorative tree will be planted on the west side of the Village Hall property, between the Fire Department and Village Gazebo.

Like many other communities across the United States, the Village of Garden City will celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, April 30.
The Recreation and Parks Department will plant a commemorative tree on the west side of the Village Hall property, between the Fire Department and the Village Gazebo. A small ceremony acknowledging the day will commence at 10 a.m. Residents are welcome to attend; please wear masks and follow social distancing protocols.
First celebrated in 1872, Arbor Day was established as a way to encourage farmers and homesteaders to plant trees that would provide shade, shelter, food, fuel and beauty to open areas. In New York, Arbor Day is celebrated the last Friday in April.
