Garden City School Budget Passes; Incumbent Trustees Reelected

GARDEN CITY, NY — The results are in, and voters in Garden City have approved the school district's budget.
The 2021-22 budget was approved 1,247 to 469. The proposed spending plan totaled $122,381,487, which is an increase of 1.21 percent, or $1,468,346 over the current budget.
To fund the increase, the district proposed a tax levy of $105,425,384, up 0.84 percent from the current year's, which the district says is the maximum allowable under the tax cap.

In addition to the budget, voters also elected Board of Education trustees. Incumbent trustees Tom Pinou and Michael Cassaro were both returned to their seats with 1,104 and 982 votes, respectively.
