Garden City Village Board Agenda: Nov. 21

See what the village's Board of Trustees will be discussing at tonight's meeting.

At Thursday's village board meeting, a professional services renewal with Swiftreach Networks, which provides the village's emergency notification system, is up for approval at $350 a month plus an additional $0.07 per minute usage charge, as is a five-year agreement between the village and the Nassau County Police Department for continued use of the Water Works building on Eleventh Street for storage of an ambulance, morgue van and an office for the ambulance crew.

Trustees are also being asked to approve fund transfers for equipment maintenance, due to multiple repairs to Recycling Trucks 208 and 209 ($12,000); more than $40,000 for street lighting repairs and contractual services related to Superstorm Sandy, which is 90 percent reimbursable by FEMA; and nearly $90,000 to provide funds for the employment of Jones Day in connection with the ongoing ACORN litigation against the village.

Revision of the existing board of commissioners of cultural and recreational affairs will also be discussed.

The meeting begins at 8 p.m. in the village hall boardroom. All residents are encouraged to attend.
