GC Girls Lax Defeats Massapequa

Garden City was coming off a very unusual two game losing streak for the annual powerhouse, but ended that with a decisive 12-6 win over Massapequa.

Sydney Pappas got the scoring started with two early goals and finished with three goals and an assist. While Carla Curth also scored a hat trick with a couple of nice drives to the goal, she also added an assist to finish with four points.

The Trojans played solid defense throughout the game, backed by solid goal keeping as both CeCe VanBlenis and Amanda Grimes had key stops on point blank shots.

Garden City also received a strong two way game from Meghan Rode (4 points), Angie Suau, Alex Hopkins, Caitlin McNaboe and Olivia Kaval. All who chipped in with key scoring, solid defensive play and excellent work up and down the field.

The girls take the field at home on Monday May 17 for a rematch against rival Wantagh, who defeated the Lady Trojans in a close match earlier this week.
