HEMPSTEAD TOWN, NY — With the winter Nor'Easter upon us, the Town of Hempstead announced cancellations and alterations to many town services, including sanitation collection and senior transportation.

“We are only a few hours into this snowstorm, but freezing temperatures and strong winds have already created hazardous conditions along town roadways and at other local facilities,” said Supervisor Don Clavin. "We strongly urge residents to stay off the roads and remain indoors for the duration of this storm.”

In order to facilitate an adequate storm response and respect the safety of town residents and employees, certain Town of Hempstead departments have altered services and canceled activities.
