LI Children's Museum Holding Special Birthday Celebration Event

Families can come for special crafts and shows to celebrate the museum's 25th anniversary.

To celebrate it's 25th anniversary, the Long Island Children's Museum is holding a special birthday celebration, and everyone is invited.

The special events will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Sunday, Nov. 18 from noon to 5 p.m. at the museum, located at 11 Davis Ave. in Garden City. The museum will open at noon on both days. Tickets are a flat fee of $20 per person, or $12.50 for museum members. Children under 2 are free.

The day will feature tons of crafts and events for the whole family. Guests will be able to make their own wrapping paper, make a celebration star out of clay, roll beeswax candles, create rock candy and more. There will also be face painting and treats. And it wouldn't be a birthday party without cake.

In addition to the crafts, there will be shows all day at the museum's theater. Kids can dance along with Grammy-winner Danny Weinkauf and the Red Pants Band, watch the jugglers and clows from the National Circus Project and see a preview of "The Big Bolt!," a new LICM production. Events at the theater are first come, first served.
