LONG ISLAND, NY — After a hot start to the week, temperatures on Long Island are predicted to cool and become more comfortable. But that cooling comes with lots of thunderstorms and rain in the forecast.

The week's temperatures are going to peak on Tuesday, with a high of 91, according to the National Weather Service. A cold front is going to move into the area Tuesday night, which will lower temperatures, but could also bring thunderstorms with it.

The storms could bring damaging wind gusts with them, and a hazardous weather outlook has been issued for all of Long Island because of it.
