Long Island Weather: Wet Week Ahead For The Area

LONG ISLAND, NY — Long Island is looking at a lot of wet weather this week, with only one clear day in the forecast.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday is going to be mostly cloudy during the day, turning possibly to rain at night. And then it will stay like that for the rest of the week.

The chance for and amount of rain will increase as the week goes on, ending with almost certain heavy rain on Friday and a high of only 49.

Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers after 9 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Calm wind.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45.

Thursday: Rain likely, mainly after 1 p.m. The rain could be heavy at times. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
