Man Called Business To Find His Lost Drugs: Nassau PD

Police say the man lost cocaine at a medical facility, and called them to see if they could find it for him.

EAST GARDEN CITY, NY — A Franklin Square man was arrested Thursday morning after Nassau County police say he called a medical facility he was at earlier in the day to see if they could find his lost drugs.

According to police, Jose Espinosa, 40, of Benris Avenue, was at a medical facility in East Garden City Thursday morning. When he returned home, police say he realized he lost a package of cocaine. Espinosa called the facility and described the package, police said. An employee located it and called police.

Espinosa was arrested around 10 a.m. without incident.

He is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to be arraigned later today.
