Nassau Coliseum Hosting Drive-In Movie This Weekend
You can bring the whole family out to enjoy TROLLS as it plays on a big screen and you watch from your car.
UNIONDALE, NY — Nassau Coliseum is holding a drive-in movie for the family this Friday and throughout the weekend. The whole family can come and enjoy TROLLS.
“For the last several weeks we have been speaking with the county to see how we might be able to safely launch a drive-in movie theater, and we were very pleased to receive the green light to move forward,” said Nick Vaerewyck, the senior vice president of programming and business operations at the Coliseum. “We miss hosting world-class sporting events, concerts and family-friendly programs that bring people together, and this is the safest way to begin to return to entertaining Long Islanders once again.”
The movies will be displayed on a large backlit LED screen outside the venue facing Hempstead turnpike, with audio made available through a partnership with Hofstra radio station, WRHU.

“The iconic Coliseum, in the heart of Nassau County, is the perfect backdrop for a drive-in,” said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran. “We welcome this fun, new entertainment option for our residents looking for family-friendly activities this summer.”
There will be food trucks in the parking lot to sell guests food and non-alcoholic drinks, though guests are permitted to bring outside snacks. Mobile bathrooms and multiple sanitizing stations will also be available.

“While we want to make this a fun experience for everyone, we encourage all guests to take proper social distancing measures on-site," Vaerewyck said. "All drivers must be wearing a face covering, and anyone who exits their vehicle must comply with wearing a face covering and abiding by social distancing of six-feet from anyone outside of members from your car.”
Tickets are on sale now for the first screening, followed by multiple showtimes available throughout the weekend. Attendees are encouraged to register and pay ahead of time online at https://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/2756410. Tickets will be $30 per car in advance, or $35 at the gate via credit/debit only.
Guests will be permitted on-site an hour ahead of showtimes, with limited space available per showing. For more information, visit NYCBLIVE.com.
