HEMPSTEAD, NY — A new vaccination clinic, which allows walk-ups has opened in Hempstead, and will help expand the county's efforts to vaccinate its population against the coronavirus.

The new clinic, located at Kennedy Park in Hempstead, opened on Thursday. It's a joint effort between the county, the state and Northwell Health.

It is running a pilot program through next week, and is aiming to inoculate 300 people per day.

The site is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome.
