More than 5,000 runners participated in the 2013 Garden City Turkey Trot, Challenge Run and Fun Run.

The Thanksgiving morning race benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

This year's top three finishers are:

  • 1. Christopher Guerrero, 22, of the Bronx, with a time of 25:19.4.
  • 2. Nicholas Filippazzo, 21, of Wantagh, with a time of 25:19.5
  • 3. Austin Ramos, 29, of New York, NY, with a time of 26:07.7
Garden City residents William Slattery, 20, and Oliver Weber, 19, placed in the top 10, finishing sixth and tenth respectively with times of 27:24.8 and 28:06.5.

Caroline Ferri, 16, a junior at Garden City High School who runs cross-country and spring varsity track, was the first Garden City female finisher (who placed third female finisher overall) with a time of 32:10.0.
