Seventy students from Stratford and Stewart schools in Garden City donated toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Wednesday for its annual Toys for Tots drive at Roosevelt Field Mall.
Santa Claus made a special appearance during the ceremony, as did Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano, who thanked students for their efforts to give back to others less fortunate this holiday season.
Residents can donate new, unwrapped toys before Dec. 20 at 14 different facilities throughout Nassau County, including the mall. For more information, call the county executive’s office at 571-6000.
