Veterans Salute, Board of Ed Meeting This Week

What's on tap this week in Garden City.

Veterans Salute: Veterans Day services will be held at the Garden City War Memorial on Seventh Street, across the Garden City Hotel, Monday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m.

Library Board Meeting: The Garden City Public Library Board of Trustees will meet Monday, Nov. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the small meeting room in the lower level of the library. Click here to read the agenda.

CPOA Meeting: The Central Property Owners' Association (CPOA) will meet for its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Nov. 12, beginning at 8 p.m. at the senior center on Golf Club Lane.

Academic Quiz Bowl: Test your knowledge at the "Academic Quiz Bowl" at the Garden City Public Library on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Using a buzzer system, students in Grades 6-9 will compete. Questions will cover various subjects, including current events, women in history, science and math, sports, pop culture and literature.

Board of Education Meeting: The Garden City Board of Education will hold a regular meeting Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Hemlock School beginning at 8:15 p.m.

Estates POA Meeting: The Property Owners' Association of Garden City Estates will meet for its regular monthly meeting Wednesday, Nov. 13, beginning at 8 p.m. at Stratford School.

Planning Commission Meeting: Garden City's Planning Commission will meet Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Garden City Village Hall. Click here to read the agenda.

Americana Fair: Garden City Community Church will hold an Americana Fair Saturday, Nov. 16, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Lunch will be served in Gardner Hall or the hot dog and sausage tent. Dolls, toys, gams, antiques, collectibles, china, glassware and more will be for sale. New this year is vintage and designer clothing, accessories and jewelry for children and adults. Pre-sale for vintage clothing only Friday, Nov. 15, between 6-8 p.m. in the parlor (Whitehall Blvd. entrance).
