GOWANUS, BROOKLYN — In the mood for some Italian food tonight? Here are three great local Italian restaurants, according to the crowd wisdom of Yelp — and they're on the cheap side, too:
1) Bella Gioia at 209 4th Ave. - "Best Italian food in Brooklyn!!! Came here after a long work out and devoured everything. Brunch menu is phenomenal."
2) Monte’s at 451 Carroll St. - "Great food and really nice night out in their back yard. Really good classic red-sauce Italian food. Everyone's dishes (we were six people) were really tasty."

3) Claudine’s at 311 Smith St. - "I'm Irish so I wipe the plate clean as a matter of course. My wife is old-fashioned Brooklyn Italian and she swears the food is as Good As It Gets."
