All Electric Formula E Race Returns To Red Hook Next Month
The professional all-electric car race returns to Brooklyn on July 14 and 15 for the second time with a slightly longer track.

RED HOOK, BROOKLYN — A professional series of all-electric car races returns to Red Hook's waterfront next month to crown this year's Formula E champion for New York City.
The ABB FIA Formula E Championship comes to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal on July 14 and 15 for the second-year in a row where 10 teams and 20 drivers face off to secure this year's title for the city's ePrix, organizers said.
Drivers from around the world will strap into single-seat cars with electric engines that can reach speeds of up to 150 to 160 miles per hour for the race. This year, they'll have to navigate a 14-turn, 1.47-mile track that's longer than the previous year's 1.21-miles, according to organizers.
