Ninth Street Espresso, 333 Douglass St., Gowanus
One reviewer says: "Came here to catch up with my friend. We had a good time talking and drinking great coffee. This is definitely very relaxing place to just sip on your mud, work on your poems or have a talk with a friend. Espresso with milk was amazing! Muffin was alright, just not my flavor I suppose. Wish they had more muffin flavors on a daily basis. The down side to this place was that this is "CASH ONLY" cafe." - Natalia P.
The Black Flamingo, 281 Van Brunt St., Red Hook
One reviewer says: "Fantastic espresso! During my recent visit, I had a macchiato and an espresso. Macchiato was prepared wonderfully by the barista - perfect amount and quality of foam. The dark roast is an exquisite and sophisticated taste, very enjoyable. Very impressed with the barista's attention to detail in drink preparations. Vibe in the shop was divine on a Friday afternoon. Tasteful chill music at a mellow level - made for perfect conversation atmosphere. Excellent coffee shop in the Hook!!" - Bill H.
